Observers disagree on space and time but agree on spacetime.
Special relativity begins with two principles: physics has the same form in every inertial frame, and every inertial observer measures the same vacuum light speed c.
The consequence is not that clocks malfunction. Space and time coordinates mix through Lorentz transformations so that the spacetime interval remains invariant.
