Quantum theory predicts probabilities from amplitudes.

Classical physics could not explain blackbody radiation, atomic spectra, or the photoelectric effect. Quantization entered through E=hfE = hf and matter waves through λ=h/p\lambda = h/p.

A quantum state encodes probability amplitudes. The Born rule turns amplitude into outcome probability: P=ψ2P = |\psi|^2. Amplitudes can interfere before probabilities are formed.
